The Salzburg advent season at the castle has been a popular attraction of the pre-Christmas period for more than twenty years: As in the last few years, in 2024 more than one hundred traditional decorative Moravian stars will bathe the Festungsgasse and the castle courtyard of Hohensalzburg Fortress in a sea of light. The advent market under the linden trees in the castle courtyard is not only the highest in the city, but also one of the most atmospheric. The stalls offer a fine selection of Salzburg delicacies, local handicraft and gift ideas.
